During the 1980′s the New York based ZE Records was simply the best & most fashionable independent record label in the world and hence the infamous slogan ‘IF IT’S ZE ONE, BUY IT’. The label who brought you Was Not Was, Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Material, Nona Hendrix developed an independent and surrealist entity with a very particular aesthetic line, a chaotic but coherent universe, refuge of all the Arty New York underground scene and the strong individualities which composed it
Fast forward 30 years and the label set up by Michael Zilkha (Z) and still being run by Frenchman Michel Esteban (E) comes to London on Bank Holiday Monday 4th June to host its very first ‘Mutant Disco’ ZE Records party at Bar Music Hall, Shoreditch, East London.
