BECK'S MUSIC EXPERIENCE

Beck's have been doing some really good stuff for upcoming artists and musicians these days. And here is another taste of it.
If you are in a band or know someone in a band they are giving you a chance to support Pheonix in a super special gig in Berlin. All you have to do is enter one song into the website a VoilĂ . They are also giving one lucky artist the chance to design a Beck's label.

Save The Arts

Our new farce of a government is proposing a 25-30% cut in funding to the arts sector which would most likely lead to the closure of many small arts organisations and cripple the country's leading arts venues. Sign the petition HERE today.

Old School Flyers From NYC

Came across this page with an amazing collection of old school hand made flyers from the early 80's hip-hop & Disco scene in NYC. more Here.

“Most of the Old School Party Flyers were Designed By Buddy Esquire and Phase 2. Phase 2 was a real big Aerosol Artist who wrote on allot of the NYC Trains who also did a majority of the Party Flyers back then. Buddy Esquire was a regular Artist who did allot of party flyers as well. These Cats Worked on big Art tables and had all the tools to make these flyers by hand including those Rub on Letters, wax Machines, exacto knives, Graph Paper and many other tools that are extinct today in the modern artwork world.”

Stopmakingme is a little trouble maker. He was in Bournemouth doing his thing as a very young dj supporting the likes of MSTRKRFT & Uffie - then he came up to London with talk of his love for clubs like Trash & Optimo and people thought he was just a scenester who could play a hot tune. Then when you talked to him he started referencing Paradise Garage and The Music Box, and when you heard him dj he somehow managed to play a massive house track next to a Talking Heads song, next to a techno tune, next to a pop record and it all worked. His style gained him a residency at London institution Fabric.
His kinetic mix of unwashed heavy electro, mutant new wave, huge disco, pulsing techno, updated post-punk and perfect pop has seen him constantly win over new fans, not least Simian Mobile Disco who hand-picked him to join them on their Autumn tour.
He co-runs the Kill Em All night with the Filthy Dukes, writes for Dummy Mag and is currently working on his debut EP
"More corrosive than a DFA remix, more minimal than an Optimo re-edit, Avery's jams are ones to get utterly lost in" - Time Out, Dec 08
